Signals – Debut Edition

The humble Fostex X-26 - where it all started.

Just completed the tentative playlist that I will DJ/MC this week. It includes a debut of a new piece of music recorded just for the program in Propellerhead’s Record and inspired from some film/radio loops from Computer Music Magazine.

Then we’ll take a stroll down Fostex X-26 4-track memory lane and visit the beginning of my electro journey that includes a Casio Casiotone MT-520 that my parents had to put on layaway to buy for me (I still have the slip from 1987!)

From there we’ll progress to stuff that never quite left the studio, and some modern examples of where those early recordings led, right up to present day with a couple tracks from my latest album Chaos Rise Up.

The second show (2/17) will fill in some of these blanks further, also drawing from my late 80s & early 90s 4-track sessions, on to Cakewalk/Sonar experiments, then my discovery of Acid (the looping program, not the drug), and eventually finding Reason.

I’ve had a lot of fun putting this together. If anyone will appreciate it – the electro-crowd will, so I am really looking forward to sharing some of my audio arcana and special moments with you.
